Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner

I have been looking for a nude coloured eyeliner for a while now and couldn't find any in the drugstore until I came across these rimmel ones that have been newly released. I really like that this eyeliner isn't too pale so doesn't look unnatural or harsh in your waterline. This eyeliner also stays on for a very long time and doesn't smudge or go patchy on your waterline. The formula of these are very creamy and soft and don't feel like you have to press really hard to get any colour from them.

At only £3.99, these eyeliners are a bargain and as good quality as many higher end eyeliners. They have a wide variety of colours from black to purple, so I would definately reccomend you give them a look.

Rimmel Apocalips lip lacquer

Rimmel's Apocalips lip lacquers are a fairly new Rimmel product and have already been highly recommended by many people across the internet. I decided to try one of the colours after I had been looking for a new lip product to try.

I tried this lip lacquer in the colour celestial which is a deep pink shade. The lip lacquer is a combination of a lipgloss and a lipstain. It applies easily like a lipgloss but gives a finish more like a lipstain. Once applied the product is not sticky like a lipgloss and a good amount of product can be applied in one application.
The product stays on for a long length of time without having to be re applied and still continues to have a glossy finish. At the moment there are not many colours in the Apocalips range however the colours they do have are varied such as a bright red and a neutral pink. The range has colours which could been worn for a day look and for a night look.
The packaging for the product is very stylish and is a little different to the packaging of the other Rimmel products. The price for each lip lacquer is £5.99 and I find this a reasonable price for the quality.
Overall I have found this product amazing at providing a long lasting colour whilst giving a smooth finish. I will be trying the other colours in this range and I recommend trying this product if you are thinking of purchasing it.

Sweatproof Makeup Products for Summer!

As it has been getting alot hotter in Britain recently, I have found myself reaching towards specific products which I find very long lasting and sweatproof in summer. I recently wore this makeup to go to a park on sunday, where it was about 21 degrees and we hiked up a hill and my makeup was still the same at the end as it was at the start so I think this makeup has been through the ultimate test.

On my face I wore the Garnier BB cream for oily skin, I originally bought the oily skin one because it was a lightest shade than the other one but I find this amazing on sunny days and my face wasn't shiny at all. This also feels really light on the skin and provides some spf so you don't need to wear suncream aswell as this.
I then wore the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer over any blemishes I had, and as you all probably know this concealer is one of the best at staying on all day and providing amazing coverage (full review here: http://beautyblog97.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/collection-2000-lasting-perfection.html )

I then used the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (another hyped up product on youtube). This powder is amazing and kept my face looking shine free the whole day without looking cakey (full review here: http://beautyblog97.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/rimmel-stay-matte-powder.html )
If your going to be sweating, I would definately reccomend a waterproof mascara as you can be sure that it won't smudge throughout the day. My favourite is the L'oreal Telescopic mascara as I find this gives my lashes lots of volume and length (full review here: http://beautyblog97.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/loreal-telescopic-mascara.html )
If you want a little bit more definition on your eyes, I would reccomend using a black powder eyeshadow instead of an eyeliner. This stays on alot longer and gives a softer look to your eyes, you also don't have to worry about it creasing as it stays for soo long. I use the black out of the Sleek Storm palette but any black will do.
As an optional extra, I think that primers are a good idea on hot sunny days as they help your makeup to stay on alot longer. My favourite is the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm as I find this makes my skin look really glowy and helps my makeup to go on alot nicer. However, you should choose a primer according to your individual skin type.

I hope these tips help you with summer makeup and what products to choose on hot days.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

This is a fairly new product to the Revlon range and since I was searching for a new foundation I decided to give this one a go. This foundation provides a light to medium coverage on the skin however this coverage can be built up by layering the foundation. I got this foundation in the shade 130 shell and this is the lightest shade in the range.

Although this is the lightest shade it may still be a bit dark for fairer skin tones and a disadvantage of this foundation range is that in comparison to the other Revlon foundations there is much fewer colours available. Before I apply this foundation I make sure I moisturise and prime my skin, this is not necessary but I find that applying the foundation after these steps means that it applies more evenly. This foundation also gives a natural coverage and doesn't look cakey on the skin which is a disadvantage in many other foundations. This is a liquid foundation and can be applied with a sponge or a brush and works well on a combination of skin types. This foundation also has spf 20 meaning that it is a good choice for the summer months as it will protect your skin. I have enjoyed using this foundation and will continue to re-purchase it, I highly recommend it :)

Topshop Lipstick

Before recently purchasing this lipstick I had never bought anything from the Topshop makeup range. Topshop have a large range of lipstick colours but the one I chose is called ditsy and is a coral red colour.

All the colours are very pigmented and last for a long length of time. The lipstick is very moisturising and it applies easily. The colour stays vibrant on the lips for a good length of time and is one of the best lipsticks I have tried. The Topshop lipstick range varies from light pinks to deep purples to vibrant reds and this variation of colours ensures that each can compliment a different skin tone. These lipsticks are £8 each however I find this a reasonable price for this lipstick as it reflects the high quality of the product and many drugstore lipsticks of the same quality are this price or more expensive.

The packaging of all the Topshop products but especially the lipsticks is really cute and small meaning that it can be carried around in a makeup bag  or handbag easily which is great for lipstick touch ups throughout the day. I absolutely love the quality and colour of this lipstick and I will definitely be purchasing other colours from the range :) I highly recommend this product.

EOS Lip Balm

I have been using the eos lip balm for around 3 months now after I saw it was very regularly mentioned and highly recommended on blogs and beauty videos. I decided to try it and I am certainly not disappointed :). I have been using the flavour summer fruit, which has an amazing scent to it.

This lip balm is extremely moisturising whilst not giving a sticky finish as many lip balm and lip glosses can do. The lip balm therefore stays on for a longer time which is good if it is being used as a base on the lips before applying any lipstick if your lips are quite dry. Lipsticks then apply a lot easier. The shape of the product within the packaging also makes the lip balm easier to apply than others where the lip balm is packaged in a small container.

This lip balm range is more expensive however it is really good quality and I would highly recommend this product. I cant wait to try the other flavours in the range :)

MUA- Nail Polish

I recently picked up a few of the new MUA nail polishes as they seemed a cheaper alternative to other brands. I picked up (from left to right)Koala bear, Pistachio ice cream and Ameretto crush.

These nail polishes apply smoothly onto the nail however two coats is need to get the polish to achieve the colour shown when in the bottle. These nail polishes are only £1 each which I think is outstanding value for the quality of the product as they are very comparable to other brands nail polishes.

The nail varnish also dries quite quickly making the application of more coats easier. There is a wide range of colours and many vibrant colours which is great for the summer season :) such as the mint green colour of the pistachio ice cream polish. The polishes are also very easy to remove and can be found in most beauty stores and are easily accessible. The packaging of the nail polish, I find is quite simple but sophisticated and of a high quality. I really recommend these nail polishes if you are looking for a good quality product for a more inexpensive price.

Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara

I got this Soap and Glory mascara as part of one of the Soap and Glory christmas sets, however, I wasn't really interested in buying this mascara as I prefer lengthening mascara rather than thickening. I find that this mascara doesn't do alot for my lashes and it tends to get alot of mascara onto my brow bone.

My main problem with this mascara is the brush, it is a big chunky bristle brush which I find so hard to make work for my lashes. This mascara also does not come in a waterproof version, which is annoying as this one smudges quite easily and doesn't stay on very well.

I definitely don't recommend this mascara and I think that there are far better mascaras on the market for cheaper, as this is around £10.

Maybelline Superstay 24hr Concealer

I bought this concealer whilst looking for an alternative to the Collection 200 Lasting Perfection Concealer as sometimes this is quite drying and cakey. However, I find this maybelline concealer to be even more cakey and look completely unnatural. I tried using this under my eyes and it just settled into any dryness under my eyes. I then tried this on blemishes and it doesn't cover them at all. The concealer just looks cakey and makes the spot even more noticable.

Also, I bought the lightest shade in this concealer, however, it seems to be way too dark and looks very orangey on my skin. There isn't a great shade range for this concealer and all the shades seem to be very orangey and unsuitable for most skin colours. I definately regret buying this concealer and will not be repurchasing it.

MUA Pro Base Eye Primer

I was on the hunt for a drugstore eye primer as I find that some of my eyeshadow doesn't stay on all day and I didnt want to spend alot of money on the Urban Decay Primer Potion, so I found this new primer from MUA and thought I would give it a go. This primer has a slight skin tone tint to it so it cancels out any discolouration on your eyelids and you can wear it alone. Under eyeshadow, it makes the colours more vibrant and there is less fallout. It's hard to tell if this makes a huge difference but I think it does help to keep my eyeshadows on for longer.

This primer feels quite siliconey, however, I think that it is a good base for eyeshadows and helps them to stay on longer. I don't think this is a good as the Urban Decay one but it is a good cheaper alternative for this.
