Garnier-BB cream, miracle skin perfector

As it is approaching summer time I recently started using the Garnier BB cream that I had purchased. This product is a good go to product in the summer months as is it has a much lighter coverage than a foundation.

I normally use this on its own more as for a BB cream is has a good amount of coverage, however it still does not have as heavy coverage as a foundation so to give this product more coverage concealer could also be used. This product could also be used as a base for underneath a foundation as it is also an effective primer.
This product can be found for normal and sensitive skin types which I found to be useful. I really like this BB cream for its coverage however this product only comes in a few shades and the lightest shade is still a bit dark for my skin tone. This product should be used in small amounts but it does have buildable coverage meaning it can be worn as a sheer product on the skin or a heavier coverage.
I recommend this product if you are looking for a BB cream which coverage can be varied and that can be used as a base or worn on its own :)

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

I have been using the Stay Matte Powder for quite a long time now and the other day I was looking through my makeup and found that I had the foundation to go with it. I think at the time it was slightly too dark for me to use but now the colour matches nicely.

This foundation has medium coverage but looks very natural on the skin. I prefer to use it with my hands to put on as I find if I use a brush I use too much product. I really look the finish this product gives, it doesn't cover everything but definately evens out your skin tone and makes your skin look alot better.

This foundation also claims to have soothing cucumber and chamomile in it, I do find that when I use this foundation  it soothes any breakouts I have and makes them less red. It also makes your skin feel like your not wearing any make up. i love the effect using this foundation and the stay matte powder gives.

Avon Nailwear Pro Nail Varnishes

(From left to right: don't be jaded, aqua fantasy, blue escape and cosmic blue)

As I have just broken up from school for study leave, I decided I was going to try and grow my nails by painting them so I don't bite them. I was going through all my nail varnishes and these avon polishes caught my eye so I thought i would review them:)

(excuse my badly painted really short nails but this is cosmic blue on the nails)

These polishes come with a easy brush to use, its fatter than a regular brush but not as big as the Essie brushes. It takes 2-3 coats of the nail varnishes to get a bold colour, which isn't too bad as they don't take very long to try. The nail varnish lasted 5 days without chipping which is amazing for me as sometimes they chip on the first day.

(peeling and brittleness solver, 24k gold strength)

I not only love the nail varnishes from avon, but I also love their nail care. The peeling and brittleness solver really helps if I have been wearing nail varnish for a long time and my nails are feeling weak. I love the 24k gold strength as it gives a really nice glitter to the nails and makes them super strong at the same time.

These nail varnishes are usually on offer, and you can buy them through any avon representative or online at http://www.avon.uk.com/PRSuite/home_page.page

Skin Care Routine for Spot Prone Skin

This is the skincare i use daily to try and combat any breakouts i have and try and clear my skin. My skin is naturally quite dry but can get oily in the t zone.

In the morning:
I use clarins daily energiser gel to wash my face, then i apply some witch hazel all over my face on a cotton pad to soothe any spots. I then use Palmers daily facial calming lotion to moisturise and soothe my skin. To prime my skin I then use MAC prep and prime to prepare it for make up.

In the evening:
I use simple wipes to take off my makeup as they are very gentle on the skin. I then either use the garnier charcoal scrub or the fruit energy scrub depending on the look of my skin. I love the charcoal scrub as it gives my skin a really clean feeling. I then use my witch hazel and palmers moisturiser again. Lastly i use a witch hazel and tea tree stick on any breakouts i have.

As you may have noticed i use lots of natural products on my skin as i find if i use any chemicals, my skin gets very dry and irritated.

Let me know what blog post you would like to see next.

Get the Look: Ashley Benson

Ashley Benson is a new actress who is beautiful so I thought I would do a quick get the look post for her make-up look.

Ashley Benson has quite a natural look which I love and personally would wear this for an evening out.

Base:

I would use Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation as Ashleys skin doesn't look like she has alot of makeup on and her skin is very glowy. A cheaper alternative of this is the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. Then, use the Rimmel Match Perfection concealer on any blemishes and under your eyes to get rid of any bags. I would also extend this over my cheekbones as it is a highlighting concealer. Her skin is glowy but is matt in her T zone so use Rimmel Stay Matte Powder through the centre of your face to minimise oil. To achieve a healthy glow, use some cream highlighter, I have the Tess Daly one, on the top of your cheekbones and down your nose.Ashley also has a nice rosy glow, to achieve this use some Natural Collection Blush in Peach Melba.

Eyes:

Ashley has a bronzey eyeshadow on, to achieve this I would use a Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze all over your lid. I would then apply some Rimmel Waterproof gel eyeliner on the outer lashline as she has quite a dark line here. I would also use Avon Supershock eyeliner inside the eye as Ashley has used a black eyeliner to define her eyes. Then, apply several coats of L'oreal Volume Million Lashes mascara and fill in your brows, I use the sleek palette to do this.

Lips:

The last step is Lips, Ashley has on a pinky nude colour similar to 17 Mirror Shine in Beehive which is really moisturising and long lasting on the lips. Her lips are also quite glossy so I would apply abit of Rimmel Royal Gloss in clear on top.

Hope you enjoyed this type of post, let us know who else you want to do:)

Get the look- Demi Lovato

Demi lovato's makeup is normally very natural and this look can be achieved very easily :)

This look shows Demi wearing a dramatic eye with a subtle lip at the people's choice awards.

Base:

Start with a moisturiser and a primer to keep your skin moisturised and this will also help to keep your makeup on for longer. A primer I recommend is the Nivea daily essentials express hydration primer. The combination of the following products will make sure you have a glowing, bronzed base to start this look.

  • Foundation-Rimmel wake me up foundation
  • Concealer- MAC select cover up
  • Bronzer- Bourjois bronzing powder
  • Highlighter- Superdry
  • Powder- Rimmel clear complexion

Eyes:
  • Rimmel Glam eyes quad eye shadow in sun safari
  • Rimmel Glam eyes liquid liner
  • Rimmel Scandal eyes mascara
These products will create a dramatic eye look especially the use of the eye liner however fake eyelashes can also be worn if this look is being worn for a special occassion and this will draw more attention to the eyes.

Brows:
  • Sleek brow kit- dark
Lips:

Using lip tints such as this one keeps your makeup looking natural and should be used if you are wearing a dramactic eye look with it. Lip tints also usually stay longer than lipsticks and lipglosses.
  •  Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 kisses lip tint in the shade Nothing but Nude

I hope this has helped you recreate Demi's makeup look :) Most of the products that I have mentioned can be found in high street stores and are easily available.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer

As you may have seen in my everyday make up, I use the bourjois concealer under my eyes and sometimes on my face. I find this concealer to be one of my more hydrating concealer, this is why I use it under my eyes as they get very dry. I sometimes use this on any blemishes, however it doesn't give as much coverage as the collection lasting perfection concealer, but looks alot less cakey.

Under my eyes it is very brightening and covers most of the bags under my eyes. I don't find that this creases on me but I have very dry under eyes so it could crease if you had oily under eyes. This concealer is quite expensive for a drugstore concealer at £7.49. Also, the colour range isn't too great, the lightest colour is slightly dark for me but if I blend it its fine. There isn't any darker shades in the range which is one downside.

Bourjois- Bronzing Powder

This bronzer provides a natural sunkissed look and is a bronzer I would definitely recommend. The bronzer is presented well and is easy to apply.

The bronzing powder applys well and only a small amount is needed meaning that the product will last longer. This product gives a natural looking glow to the skin without it looking overpowering. If applied to a contouring brush the bronzer is excellent at contouring the face as it is a subtle way of highlighting features such as the cheekbones. Not only does this bronzer look good it smells amazing too and the presentation of the bronzer makes it easy for transporting. This is because it comes in a small box and is fixed in place well so the product is not likely to break or crumble when being taken around which is a common problem with makeup powders such as bronzers.

This product can be worn all over the face to give a natural looking sun kissed glow or as a contour and is effective at providing both. The product is matte which little shimmer meaning it can easily be worn as an everyday product. The price of this product is £6.99 and can be found in shops such as boots and other cosmetic shops on the high street. Overall I find this bronzer to be really effective and natural looking :)

MAC select cover-up concealer

I have used the MAC select cover up concealer a few times and I have found it to be quite effective. However I did find the product to be quite watery. I like the packaging and how the product is presented especially the small tube that the concealer is presented in as this makes it very easy to transport as it will fit in any makeup bag.

Although the product packaging is small the concealer lasts a long time and there is a good amount of product in it. This concealer would be best for people with more oily skin as it sets well and looks quite matte on the skin. It may not be the best concealer to try if you have dry skin as it is quite drying when applied. This is the lightest shade of the select cover up concealer. This product is quite a sheer concealer and doesnt give a heavy coverage which makes it feel light on your skin. It is also good for making your complexion look brighter. The price of this concealer is £14.50 but I would recommend this product if you are looking for a light concealer although an alternative is the collection 2000 concealer which is also an effective product.

MAC-Paint pots

Hi im Beth, I'm new to beautyblog97 and new to beauty blogging in general :)

I recently started using MAC products such as the MAC select cover-up and their eyebrow pencil however my favourite product I have tried so far has to be one of their paint pots.

This paint pot is in the colour Bare Study which is a neutral colour. The paint pot itself can be used as a base and is an effective eyeshadow primer for use under eyeshadows and helps eyeshadows to stay put for longer. It can also be worn on it's own but still looks great :) The colour is a very neutral shade which is great for an everyday look but eyeshadow can also be layered onto this base so it can be worn on different occassions. This product does have a shimmer to it but not overly. It is quick and easy to apply and is good for when time is limited. The paint pots are £14.50 each however the product is of a good quality and I would definitely recommend this product if you're looking for a base to wear under eyeshadows. I can't wait to try the other colours in this range!

Soap and Glory A Great Kisser Lip Balms

Soap and Glory are soon becoming my favourite beauty brand, I love all their shower gels and scrubs and have now discovered their lip balms. I bought them quite a long time ago and at first I really didn't like how thick they were and they felt sticky on my lips. I found them out my drawers the other day and thought, I'm gonna give these another go. Since then I have been hooked on using them.

They are quite thick and gloopy but if you put on a very small amount they just feel very moisturising on your lips. I use this at night and they keep my lips hydrated all night and I don't really have to use lip balm the following day.

I have the peach and coconut scents, which smell amazing, I really want to eat them! The peach just gives your lips a slightly milky pink colour with a tiny bit of shimmer. The coconut just makes your lips shimmery as it has pink and blue shimmers in it. I love the look of these lips balms on my lips as I think they look so glossy and last such a long time that you don't even need to reapply them.

Buy them for just £5 here: http://www.boots.com/en/Soap-Glory-8482-A-Great-Kisser-8482-Lip-Balm-18g_1247917/
